![]() ![]() The Wii U actually has better ping, download, and upload speeds, but speed tests won't show it. The hardware of the Wii U does not allow for faster speeds. Nintendo somehow throttles the max speed we can achieve. (This might be true, but the fact that my cell phone can outperform it makes me call "BS" on this idea.) The nature of the Wii U's browser does not allow accurate results from speed test sites. I have a few suspicions, but I don't know if they are correct: So my question is: Why? Why does the Wii U perform so poorly on these speed tests? They all return roughly the same results for all devices. I have also run the speedtest via numerous sites. No matter which configuration I use, the Wii U never approaches the numbers my PC achieves, and in fact, my cell phone outperforms the Wii U on my home network-more than double the numbers. On my Wii U, my numbers drop off ridiculously. ![]() Those are solid numbers for online gaming. While there are people whose numbers obliterate mine, I get about 10 ping, 50 mbps download, and 20 mbps upload on my PC. ![]()
